This weekend marks the end of the Polar Bear Grand Prix.  It consists of 3 races (a 4k, 5k and 4-miler).  I ended up doing pretty well in the races and for the whole series.  I finished 2nd in my age group for the 4k, 7th for the 5k (didn't race due to by IT Band injury) and 2nd for the 4-miler (which ended up being 3.2 due to all the ice on the course).  I also won 2nd place for the entire series which earned me another medal for the series!

I can't decide if I really like the series or not.  On one hand it's typically very cold and I just want to sleep, but on the other hand it's a great test of my fitness during the winter with little competition and you get some decent swag for participating.  The one thing that I don't exactly like is the fact that it has serious hills :(  Fortunately, this is where I seem to excel over some of my competitors, but that doesn't make them any more pleasant.
